It’s time to strut your spooky stuff! For this year’s prompt you will need to make three images, which can be all on one canvas together, or on three separate ones, but remember to provide links to all three if so!

Image One is your ranebopet being stealthy! Do they have a really good hiding place, or disguise? Maybe you jump out at someone and startle them to show your skill. 

Image Two is your ranebopet being spooky! Show them trying to do something ghostly, like making creepy sounds, or turning someone’s picture frames upside down, or even doing something like making scary shadow puppets! Let your creativity go nuts on this one. No bg requirement.

Image Three is your ranebopet knowing their ghostly mission! What would motivate them as a ghost? Do they want to protect something or someone? Do they just want to stay somewhere they like? Can’t rest until they finish their reading list? Show us! This one needs at level three background to count. If you choose a story instead it must be at least 800 words.

For completing this prompt, you'll get a Ghosts Compass to be used to turn in for the secondary prompt~

✿ TRICKS AND TREATS ✿

Hattowen is the longest night in year, when the fabric between worlds is at its thinnest, and ghost-like visions of figures in other dimensions drift about. The people of Ranebo have unique customs to confuse and disorient these specters in order to ward them away- they paint their homes with illusions, giant eyes, turn signs the wrong way, and even dress up in frightening costumes!

For this prompt, draw your Ranebopet celebrating hattowen! They could be doing anything from carving pumpkins, painting their house all spooky-like, or maybe brewing horrible concoctions in a cauldron! Go wild and have fun!

During Hattowen, it's tradition to dress up in spooky costumes and scare your friends, or the local community, if you're feeling devious! Though some ranebopets prefer to stick to the ghostly tradition, others take the opportunity to get dolled up like a princess. What kind of costume does your ranebopet wear? A Froofy dress, a boring ghost sheet, or maybe they've got a full on cosplay!

Draw your ranebopet and their friend (another ranebopet, or a familiar) both dressed up for the holiday season.

Mothmin are very timid creatures who only appear during Auter. They can be attracted with a tinted lantern which is made to look like another mothmin! They vibrate when they are either very happy or very scared.

Draw your character trying to catch or befriend Mothmin with a tinted lantern! These small, fuzzy creatures are very flighty and are only seen around Auter.

Mothmin come in 3 colors, with some appearing more rare than others!

Orange mothmin: 66% chance     Pink Mothmin: 33% chance     Albino Mothmin: 1% Chance

Ghoworms are very shy, only found outside of their caves in October, and have spooky glow-in-the-dark markings so they resemble a ghost. They lower themselves down from silken strings, and like to hang from the trees in groups, which is an eerie sight in a dark forest!

For this prompt, draw your ranebopet hunting for ghoworms! Are they trapped in their silky string, sneaking up on them with a bug net, or perhaps theyre saving them from a hungry Bakiri!

Ghoworms come in six colors! All have the same rarity!

During the months where the leaves turn orange, and Hattowen draws near, many people from all over Ranebo participate in pumpkin carving competitions to show off their festivities! Even in non-competitive groups, some just like to show off their creativity, and spend time creating pumpkin art with close friends and family.

For this prompt, draw your Ranebopet carving- or having finished carving -up their very own pumpkin for the Hattowen celebrations!

Sometimes those carved pumpkins spring to life and wander around as little golems! You can feel free to draw your Ranebos creating pumpkin golems, or creating just regular carved pumpkins, you'll still get a golem regardless.

Show your character in a mini diorama environment you made! This can be a scene, terrarium, paper theatre, etc. It can be physical media, or digital 3d. The material can be anything (sculpey, paper, foam or paperclay, wood or stone carving, paper folding, etc.) as long as it depicts your character in an environment you created. It can be 3d or flat-3d (like a paper theatre)

Art is oftentimes a messy thing, but why not embrace it? For this prompt, make a piece of art using one of the below methods!

• Draw without using your dominant hand! (Be it your mouth, foot, left hand, or perhaps its not even you holding the pen?)
• Use a randomised set of colors! (LINK) For digital artists. For traditional artists, blindly grab some supplies from a pile!

Draw your character in at least 4 different art styles from animated shows or other artists! You can also transform your character to make it fit into the world of the show more- ie. if you're drawing a dragon character to fit into spongebob, you could draw it as a sea dragon. 

The art styles you use must be drawn from a different artist or media. You cannot use 4 of your own art styles.

When you're analyzing the style you'll be adapting, pay attention to the following:

• Posing and expression: What's the norm or range for these in your source?
• Shapes: Are the characters very geometric, or very soft and rounded?
• Line style and weight: Are the lines precise or sketchy, thick or thin? Do they vary in thickness, and where? 
• Color use: Style comes through in color choices as well. What kind of color choices does the source make? Are they usually muted, darkened, high-contrast, or oversaturated more than what you would use? Try to experiment with using color-picked colors from the source.
• Think about how the source might be drawing and how you'll imitate it- will you need to use bigger, looser strokes than normal? Will you need to work in blocks of color instead of line?

Make 3 different limited-color thumbnails from 3 different color palettes, then pick one to finish into a scene. For the settings, you can choose anything- one idea could be to draw the kind of location the colors make you think of.

Note: While you can pick your own color palettes, Please try to keep them limited! No more than 5-6 colors, but feel free to use less!

Design packaging for a snack themed around your character! It could be candy, flavored milk, juice box, soda, treats for draphibi, bettabo fish food, etc. It should have an original brand name/snack title on the label. Include a moodboard or pinterest board of at least 5 examples of packaging designs you like. Drawing the character themselves on the label is optional but the overall design should at least be inspired by them!

✿ Suit Up ✿

Design wearable gear or an outfit for your character that helps them perform a task! This could be for holding gathered berries, delivering packages, performing, espionage, diving, lighting the way for others, time travel, etc! You could think about your character's job or hobby and go from there. It can be anything!

Include a moodboard (in an image, photo album, stash, on pinterest) of things that would be helpful reference and inspiration for designing your outfit. Look at your moodboard as inspiration to generate ideas, and do some loose exploratory sketches to design your outfit. Take your favourite sketches and refine those ideas to develop an idea you really love!
