You do not need to ask me to make art of Jive and you may post it to any site that allows you to share art, but please show me when you're finished. I am GreywaterAlley on Discord.

Born October 22, 2020, Jive was instantly thrown into the excitement and fun of the Hattowen activities. Having no chance to ease into this world, his life was bound to be an interesting one right from the start.

Here is the story of our Hattowen adventures.

He celebrated his first full day of life by playing with the other hatchlings, right up until they convinced him to ascend the trees with them and glide back down on the falling leaves. After landing he decided to take the rest of the day to rest and let his tiny heart slow back down. This traumatic experience will probably haunt him for the rest of his life.

After spending a few days leisurely strolling around and looking at the many decorations, he was finally ready to head back out for another big adventure. He chose one that seemed like it would be calmer than his first, a ghoworm hunt. He wasn't quite sure what a ghoworm was, but if he would be the one hunting them then they must not be too scary. He searched around in the woods, being careful not to climb any higher than his owner's waist. He saw many lights moving around and assumed those must be the ghoworms, but most were far too high for him to get to, looking more like colorful stars among the leafy canopy. After making his way up onto a fallen tree, he finally spotted a strong green glow coming from inside a hole in the trunk. Surely he'd found a ghoworm now! Unfortunately, he was not able to see into the hole due to the bright light shining in his eyes He couldn't coax anything out either and he certainly wasn't about to go in there. He let out a sigh of disappointment, but as he was about to give up and move on he noticed the bluish-purple glow coming from behind him. He got a slight fright when he turned around to see the ghoworm that had crept up on him while he was preoccupied. It was much larger than he had expected it to be, but it quickly proved itself to be friendly and followed Jive over to where his owner was searching, allowing them to win their prize for the activity.

Jive really enjoyed dressing up for Hattowen. Because he is a Bettabo and requires easy access to water, I tried to think of a costume that would allow me to carry him around while also providing some water for him. My solution was to turn him into a cute little drink. I carried a glass around while he enjoyed the ride and the scenery. Inside the glass was a bit of water for him and a couple of cherries for him to snack on. I also added some candy eyeballs and a skeleton spoon. I just dressed up as a simple ghost in a sheet, Jive really seemed to like my costume though.

Before the Hattowen activities were finished we made sure o take a trip to a Ghoworm cave to see the creatures in their usual environment. While we were there we ran into a Bakiri, who we learned was named Lich. Lich was a lovely Bakiri and he was happy to show off his beautiful markings for us. He looked so at home in the vast glowing cave. We spent several hours with Lich as he showed us around and when we were finished we said our goodbyes, promising to meet again before we headed back home.

After Hattowen, Jive and I continued to explore the forest and see what else we could find. We came across many interesting sights and met quite a few nice people each time we went out. As the weather continued to grow colder our adventures became shorter and less frequent but no less fun. We began to spend more time together indoors; playing games and watching movies. One night while I was playing a racing videogame, Jive decided that he wanted to play too. He couldn’t play by himself so he helped me instead. He was so cute controlling the joystick with his little limbs. He got frustrated a few times, sometimes very frustrated, but he was able to help me finish the race before he couldn't stay awake any longer.

As the days went by I began to learn more and more about Jive as more of his personality showed with each new activity. Even simple things like bathing provided some interesting moments as Jive decided to paint all over the bathroom counter and wall with toothpaste while I was in the shower. I made him help clean it up.

Once Winty was upon us it was only a matter of time till Chumbus came and the joy and energy of the season drew us back outside for more adventures.

Here is the story of our first Chumbus together.

Preparing the gifts for Chumbus ended up being a more involved process than I had thought it would be as I spent quite a bit of time helping Jive arrange the hay in a presentable manner for Chumbus. Jive insisted that all the strands of hay had to be stacked into neat little rows. Turns out he's kind of particular, at least when it comes to gift-giving.

Once Chumbus' gifts were ready for her we were able to focus on spending the rest of the season enjoying all of the activities and decorations as well as the bright little visitors that would stop by our yard before heading off on their trip. Jive adored the Gloflies and tried to make friends with as many as he could while they were here. They loved it when he pet them, he always seemed to be able to find just the right spot for each of them.
